The Day of the Lord. 1st Thessalonians 5:3 was my random start up verse today.
I rarely use the Bible Periscope. However it was on when I opened since I just reset the settings yesterday, so here it is.
The Day of the Lord
1Th 5:1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
1Th 5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
1Th 5:3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

Many is the person who would, upon seeing this for the first time on any given day, that would be tempted to go ahead and start there in their contemplation, meditation, and Prayer to God without first or even later going back and reviewing what comes in Chapter 4 and before, which obviously Chapter 5 draws from.

Which is fine by the way, if you are one of those few who have memorized the entire book of Thessalonians.
However, for me and the rest of my Christian brethren who live in just another form of self imposed retardation, wherein we never took the time to memorize ANY book of the Bible, this can lead to disaster and misunderstanding.
For peeps like us, we should really open the previous pages so we can have at least a semblance of context, even though most of us have no idea what the lives and times and cultures and nuances of the Early Christians were to any meaningful degree. (as regards understanding their speech in context).
Yet still, it is quite ok to go through whatever passage you opened to first in the Bible and contemplate and meditate on that for a few minutes before opening the previous pages and contemplating and meditating on the full context of what has been written.
The reason I am guessing this is ok is because there have been many times when I opened my Bible to a passage that is a continuation of writings from previous pages, and the passage that I opened to brought some kind of realization to a question or thoughts I had been having and asking God about in prayer, and had a reasonable and just and authoritative answer given by the very passage I opened too. Without it having much or anything to do with the context of the passage (sometimes).
Many a time such realizations have pointed me to other passages, completely unrelated to the subject written about by our Apostles or Disciples or Prophets that I opened too, yet it fits perfectly with a question I had been mulling over in Prayer - (and usually a bit of consternation at my inability to grasp ANY answer without help LOL) - to our Father, and gives me an answer that is Obviously correct. So correct and obvious is that answer (sometimes), that my inability to grasp such an obvious answer leads me to understand that I really have no understanding at all without our Lords direct help.
The danger is in NOT reviewing the full context for those of us who have not perfectly memorized entire books of the Bible.
For how many times have I done so and run off half cocked with wrong Ideas about some thing, idea, or subject, only to be reproved in a couple of weeks (or years in some cases) and be humbled as the idiot I am for not clarifying easily searchable subjects with the correct context of a passage or chapter or whatever?
I tell you it has been many many times I have been in error due to this very topic I am contemplating.

I tell you it has been many many times I have been in error due to this very topic I am contemplating.
So before I contemplate a subject, such as our Lord Jesus Christ coming as a thief in the night, I will most certainly read the previous chapter/s for context, instruction, and understanding.
Yet I do have some experience in this subject matter myself, so I will be considering this writing from multiple standpoints, one of which is my experience of being a thief in the night (reformed that is, yes, an EX- thief in the night.) (( By God himself I was reformed))
So give me a few and I will contemplate this. And if I am led too I will do another blog post on my thoughts on it from the perspective of an actual (Ex) thief in the night.
Understand I am no scholar or "Educated" person. So many of my thoughts may be in error. Not because I am uneducated by men, but rather because I dont spend the same time studying as other men do. Yeppers. it is my own fault. Not other mens fault LOL.
On the other hand I also do not make a decision generally on most subjects unless there is a painfully obvious conclusion that even a child may recognize as being honest and true. So whatever "error" in my thinking pops up, it is most of the time just errors in THEORIES I am contemplating that make themselves obviously true or false in time and further study. (if it is Gods will that is)
Let me give you an example.
Read more if you dare. Preferably 30+ year olds only for the following. This is not for the immature.
This next part will be touching (necessarily so) on sex, perversion, killing, and other subjects.

So when I was first being called (which I could probably write a book on in itself) seriously (which is the wrong word, yet I lack the means to describe a point in time i wish to describe to you, since it is now obvious I was being called from birth though I knew it not. At least not as theologians describe it today, for I felt the pull of what I did not understand clearly.)
So let me start again.
So when I was first being called seriously, which time was a time when I was still full of sinful ways by the way (much more so than today is all I am saying). I ran into an interesting outlook on the creation story in Genesis.
So there I am. Slap full of sinful desires still, yet studying the Bible and flipping through the TV for good preachers I could relate too, or at least those preachers with the less often pleas to be showered in gifts of baals money from their marks who dont even know the system they live in is run by the powers and rulers of darkness in high places, but instead are taught (by implication, these peeps who do this are sneaky) that God the Father is the one who put this system of men and devils in place. (hint, to the best of my understanding, men and devils put the system you agreeably live under in place. Not God. Just as they did with the Tower of Babel. God did not put that system in place. On the contrary. He broke it up and scattered it to the far ends of the earth.
)
And low and behold, there stands a preacher claiming the story of creation in Genisis and the Garden of Eden is a story wherein Eve had sex with the serpent and Adam and had twins. Able was from Adams seed they said and Cain was from the serpent seed.
Well, the arguments they gave for one of the words in the creation story meaning "became" instead of "was", although not quite correct, since it could mean either, was undeniable as a possibility, and led me down a long long rabbit hole. (a hole that goes nowhere except death if any subtle serpent should enter behind you by the way, yet this sentence is for another group of people who are beyond retarded and gullible.)
Building off of this possibility of meanings, the pastor then built his case for his argument that Eve had sex with the serpent and Adam and had twins. Able from Adam and Cain from the Serpent.
I mean they really are asking you to believe that Eve, had sex with an animal that was possessed by a fallen angel and also that Eve joined in with Adam while Adam also had sex with the same possessed animal after she did and that Eve actually used her hands to guide Adams sexual member in the process of sexual intercourse with a serpent that had legs and which was possessed.
Read the text. They really are pushing this though they word it differently.
It is such a HUGE red flag that I feel embarrassed for my fellow man that I have to point this out as a huge red flag to be wary of.
Gen 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
.
Yet without even looking into any of the language aspects, or the constant arguments of whether a passage is literal, metaphor, parable, hyperbole, etc etc etc ad infinitum, one can plainly see that such a concept, as outlined by this particular sect of Christianity, would mean that God did NOT want you to know the story of creation, be saved, or even have any understanding at all of what went on.
This is simply not true. God refutes this multiple times. God refutes this while also maintaining that there are indeed secret things of God. if the Story of creation was secret, God would not have revealed to us the creation at all. People claiming that God's word misleads people he wants to save to keep secrets is hogwash. God simply does not tell you that which he wishes to remain secret. It's not that God could not do so, for he can indeed do anything. Anything. Contrary to popular opinion.
Let me digress into the God can do Anything argument. - We will come back to the Creation Story in a bit.
(Keep in mind I am not educated by theologians or any man made institutions and all that portends)
A certain Bible Story that contains a lying spirit and Ahab should clearly dispel even the most diehard protestant of this error that God cannot look upon sin (their words, not mine). 1stKings 22. ------- IE: God cannot look upon sin, Stated over and over by Protestant Preachers and Deacons and Sunday School teachers, yet there God was, speaking directly to a lying spirit. And I could give you many other examples too.
Does one actually believe that God did not see the Prophets of Baal attempting to get their false God to burn up their abominable sacrifice??? For if one does believe this, I suggest you should rethink your entire world view before you even begin to rethink your dogma.
In first Kings 18, we find the story of God, The Prophet of God Elijah, Ahab, The Prophets of baal, and so forth.
Yet many pastors tell me point blank that God could not look on that scene of sin wherein the prophets of baal were in a duel to the death with the Prophet of God, Elijah.
Yet there God was. Not only looking, but delivering to those prophets of baal their just and deserved reward of death at the hands of the people who also witnessed the entire deal and followed the instructions of the Prophet of God to destroy them all for their abominable sins that God clearly saw.
Let me be clear. Pastors, Deacons and Sunday School teachers NEVER come up to me and say God could not see the sin that the Prophets of baal commit in that particular duel with Elijah.
All they really say is "God cannot look upon sin" as a stand alone mysterious comment that they never explain in any detail, yet which is easily refuted by any Elementary school student who has learned the bare minimum of basics in reading, with just a cursory quick reading through any relevant scripture.
Ask me again why I dont go to "Church" often. I dare you. If those suckers would even once touch on any of the deeper and harder to understand subjects in the Bible without misleading "truths" thrown in, I would be eager to go and learn from those men who are brave enough to touch on those subjects, even though they confess they have not all the answers. But all of the misleading BS turns dedicated seekers of God off big time.
At least it does me. I just cant sit there respectfully without jumping up and demanding "Just what in the world do you mean by saying such and such? Explain yourself! Now!" so I choose not to go and let the sheep be programmed any way they wish.
Let me put it this way. God clearly and without reservation tells us he sees EVERYTHING. Even the thoughts hidden in the heart of men which has never even crossed their lips in speech. Yet you stand there and tell me God cannot look upon sin, with a serious look of mystical rapture on your face like there is a great wisdom hidden from mere mortal men that you have figured out yet others will never know, and then proceed on with your lesson without explaining what you mean which is OBVIOUSLY contrary to the Words God himself speaks???
What is up with that you retards??? It is ridiculous at best. Yet much much worse at worst though isn't it???
And yes. You need to explain it to me like I am 6 years old to bypass my own retardation level.
Anyway, back to the whole Eve was a swinger Theory of what seems to me to be a misguided at best sect of Christianity.
How is it they can say that the Fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil is actually the seed of satan, yet they insist that the story describes Adam procreating as "Knew Eve his wife". OK so lets just ask them. Why would God describe Adam as having homosexual intercourse with the Serpent and Eve participating in a most vile and perverse way And demand later that any of Gods people be killed for this very thing in public executions yet he lets Adam and Eve slide??????
The Story of creation literally says EVE "gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat."
Since when has sexual intercourse, whether of the married variety, or of the perverse, or even the body parts involved in sexual intercourse by themselves, ever once either in the books of the Bible or in present times EVER been good for food, pleasant to the eyes, AND a body part to make one wise???
And dont give me that "well maybe it's describing a brain?" BS either. Everyone knows what happens if you eat brains. And it is not pretty. Brains are NOT good for food or pleasant to the eyes and eating brains in no way makes you wise. Rather the opposite in my opinion. Unwise.
Not only that, but eating somethings brains implies it is now dead you retards. You ate it. It's dead. How could God curse the very animal that lied to Eve if it was no longer there to be cursed???
Alright. lets ask another question. How can the snake be the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, AND be the snake talking at the same time??? For if the Fruit of the tree is the seed of the snake, then the tree is the snake. None of that makes any sense.
Anyone can clearly see just the surface problems alone are huge and begin IMMEDIATELY to plague such a theory. Yet the problems with this theory only get worse and worse and worse the deeper you go. Until at last, the debater on the pro side of such a theory is forced to concede that we cant see their viewpoint, therefore we must be of the seed of satan and already blinded and damned to hell.
It is ridiculous.
Gen 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
Gen 3:7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
Gen 4:1 And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD.
Gen 4:2 And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.
Gen 4:3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD.
Gen 4:4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:
Gen 4:5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.
Gen 4:6 And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?
Anyway, this was just one of MANY MANY theories that God led me to contemplate on my path of Christian growth without coming to a decision immediately or even soon, and this is before I had even begun to seriously attempt to turn my sinful ways around 180 degrees and attempt to go the other direction.
WHEW! That was a boatload of words. No doubt I screwed it up somewhere along the way. If so, please try to read it in the spirit it was written in rather than with cold harsh law-filled judgement of every single word.
But you do you. I dont care either way.
Well. It's time to get cracking on reading Thessalonians.
No doubt since I have spent many hours on contemplation already when I should have been getting my Mater, Squash, Cucumber, and Melon plant planting areas ready, that I will procrastinate (as usual) and do it later.
And being tired, I will most likely procrastinate on my planting duties till tomorrow too.
God bless you if you made it this far in this long writing. Only thing I can figure if you did is either you were bored to tears, or paid to keep an eye on me LOL. Forgive my retarded hiney for any errors in this writing.
I feel for you either way since I am a poor writer who slings Politically Incorrect terminology around everywhere LOL and this was quite a long read in todays mindset of instant gratification.
Enjoy the rest of your day. And contemplate not only the thief in the night. but the thief on the cross too. For it is relevant.
